Building Market Presence with Engerio: BYD in Slovakia
The company Auto-Impex has been operating on the Slovak market for more than 30 years. During this period, it has built a strong position within the network of authorized car dealers. Currently, it is introducing one of the most popular electric car brands - BYD - to Slovakia.
BYD Enters the Slovak Market
Although the Chinese brand BYD outsold Tesla in Europe in April 2025, it had not had an official distributor in Slovakia until recently. That changed in spring 2025, when Auto-Impex, as the exclusive dealer, introduced BYD models to the Slovak market. The move was supported by a marketing campaign designed to introduce the brand to Slovak consumers.

Campaign Goal: Building Brand Awareness
Part of the online and offline campaign also included PR support in the form of native articles that strengthened brand awareness and helped reach the target audience. Their readership was supported by the agency Imposanti through Engerio, with whom they had positive experience in the past.
"The goal of the campaign was to create as much interest in the brand in the so-called ‘see’ phase, that is in the phase of raising awareness, and at the same time achieve the highest possible content readership," says Jakub Valachovič, CEO of Imposanti.
Support of Articles on the Company Blog
The first supported article introduced the car manufacturer BYD and the launch of its models on the Slovak market. The second focused on BYD’s advanced hybrid system, BYD Super DM, which saves fuel and reduces emissions.
Both outputs were published by Auto-Impex on its website. Thanks to this step, the opportunity opened up to re-engage the acquired traffic through other forms of online advertising and reinforce the main campaign messages in people’s minds

During the campaign through Engerio, the articles were displayed in several versions of previews with different headlines and featured images. The support for each article represented more than 1,000 clicks, which Engerio delivered gradually over seven days.


Which Preview Attracted the Most Attention?
Thanks to an interesting topic with a strong news hook (the introduction of BYD to the Slovak market), suitably chosen photos, and headlines, both articles attracted an above-average number of readers.
The clearly most engaging headline, with a highly above-average click-through rate of 5.32%, was:
“These are the Chinese electric cars that can shake Slovakia – see why.”
An engaging headline was complemented by a photograph from the Slovak environment. Two BYD models are captured in it in front of the famous historical building of the Slovak National Theatre in the center of Bratislava. Readers often identify more with this type of image than with “stock photo” perfect but often somewhat impersonal shots.

Website Traffic and Sales Grew
"The campaign’s click-through rate significantly exceeded standard values. In addition to high-quality direct traffic from Engerio’s preview boxes, it also positively influenced the site’s organic search, which increased significantly," describes Jakub Valachovič. He adds that the preparation and support of articles manifested not only in the digital environment but also in real life.
"Prospective customers at short-term sales points come well informed and with great interest in the vehicle. Even before the flagship dealership opened, more than one hundred vehicles were sold, which we consider a success. We expect similar interest after the current opening of the showroom on Rožňavská Street in Bratislava," explains Matúš Toráč, Brand Manager of Auto-Impex.
Thanks to clear statistics for each preview, the client also found out which headlines and photos are most interesting to readers. This information can later be used, for example, when publishing PR articles in the media.
